What Is New Media Advertising?

Nowadays, companies and businesses uses the new technology for advertising through media, particularly on the Internet.Over the years, the tradition advertising's influence on consumers has decreased resulting in finding a new route for the marketing industry. Meanwhile, the amount of people joined the Internet for communication, receiving news, and shopping increases rapidly. As a result, online media becomes the most efficient way to reach the majority of consumers.

How Does New Media Affects Consumer?

It consists of websites, newscasts, RSS news feeds, blogs (web logs), vlogs (video logs), and social networking. Therefore, new media is very interactive and available to anyone who can access onto the Internet. These choices are very common and are a way to gain global audience. Evidence suggests that advertising is no longer the main influence. More likely, consumers are learning about products via trusted peers, such as celebrities, bloggers (include both web and video), buyers and so on. They visit other buyer's blogs, or forum discussions to look for the valuable reviews. Personally, I do not believe in commercials. I learn about the products via previous user's opinions and ratings. By that, I become more confident in making decisions.

How To Use New Media In Marketing?

These days, marketers are maximizing the potential of online media. Different types of media serve the same purpose of showing customers exactly what they are getting. Companies are not only building websites, but also hiring staff to blog and run forums about the products with positive and valuable feedback. This will persuade consumers to believe in the products and have trust in the brands.
